Element-accurate pins
Click any pixel on an image, PDF, video frame, or live website. VisualPin records the exact x/y coordinates, the DOM selector path, the surrounding text, the device viewport, and the scroll position. When you reopen the canvas a week later, the pin is exactly where you left it — even if the page above it has reflowed.
- Selector resilience: pins use a layered selector strategy (ID → class chain → :nth-child) so they survive minor markup changes.
- Device-aware: a pin dropped on mobile renders on the mobile canvas; switching to desktop hides device-specific feedback.
- Section inference: every pin is auto-tagged with the page region (Header, Nav, Hero, Footer) for fast filtering.
AI feedback coach
Most feedback is vague. "Looks off." "Make it pop." "Idk fix pls." Click the AI button on any pin and our coach rewrites the comment in three tones — kind for the client, specific for the designer, technical for the developer. Optional, on-demand, never automatic.
What the AI considers
- Accessibility heuristics (contrast, hit-target size, focus order)
- Your project's design tokens, if you upload a style guide
- Adjacent pins on the same element to detect duplicates
- Brand voice samples you provide (optional)
Video commenting
Upload an MP4, paste a Loom URL, or link a public Vimeo. Reviewers scrub the timeline, pause at the exact frame, drop a pin, and write a note. The pin stores both the timestamp and the on-frame coordinates, so you can jump back to any review in one click.
Live website VisualPin
Paste a production URL. Our reverse proxy renders the live site inside the VisualPin canvas, so reviewers click and pin on the real page — not a screenshot that's already stale. Multi-page support means each route gets its own pin set; switch pages from the sidebar.
Guest reviewers (no account)
Send one share link. Clients drop pins instantly with just a name. Optional email collection for follow-ups. Guests can reply on any thread, but only the project owner can resolve a ticket — so the source of truth stays with you.
Threads, statuses, and resolutions
Every pin is a mini-ticket. Reply, mention teammates, attach screenshots, and mark resolved without leaving the canvas. Filter the sidebar by status, page, section, device, or reviewer.
Integrations
Reviews open in any browser with no plugin, and Canva and Figma links can be pinned directly today. Slack, GitHub, Linear, Jira, Asana, and Notion connections are on the roadmap — see the integrations page for current status.
White-label and custom branding
Reviewer pages are clean and distraction-free, and guest reviewers never need an account. Replacing the VisualPin logo with your own and hosting reviews on your custom domain are planned for Business and Agency plans.
Security & infrastructure
Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access to your projects is restricted to your account, and guest links only open the single project they were created for. Sign in with Google or email. Single sign-on for larger teams is planned.
